Oyate Music Recordings has been a leader in the independent Native American music industry since its inception in 1998. Oyate Music Recordings artists have been honored by the NAMMY Awards (Native American Music Awards), the ISMA (Indian Summer Music Awards) and the GRAMMY Awards.
In 2001 Oyate Music was one of the first Native music labels to establish a on-line digital download distribution system through our affiliations with CD Baby and Audio Lunchbox and to persuade distributors to add and include specific "native" catagories to their sites.
Oyate Music has earned the respect of over 160 radio stations in regards to the quality of the artists and releases that are made available through our label and radio presence and airplay support is enjoyed by our artists because of these relationships.
We are a "major independent label" with worldwide distribution available to our artists.
